I usually use up my free quota everyday and save my credits until i have a nice
amount, but thats actually nt the point here.
The point is: I just lost 4 quote because of the slowness of the server! it was
so: i had decided for five scans to download. one of them was about 4000x3000 px
big. now i clicked "download" on all of the pages as i usually do. i
know the MT server is not sooooo fast, but i know that there is a lot of traffic
and that its very expensive. but still, after like 10 minutes that this first
big picture had loaded, the others didnt come on. and i can tell you why: the
server had cancelled the connections, but the browser hadn't noticed.
now, how can this hapen? requests sent all at the same time are disconnected?
yes, it can happen: i noticed that since the server and the MT version and all
was changed, MT only allows the loading of ONE page at a time, which means: if
you click like three pages (which we tabbed browser users do usually), you can
seen the pages loading right in the order you clicked them before. well, all
right - no prob with that.
but it really upsets me when that steals my quote, because the database
subtracts the quote from the account already when the request is received. but
then the server cancels the other connection, because the first one takes too
long and the server thinks, the other connections dont work because of the
browser and disconnects
well, i know this is a bit complicated, but i hope some of you understand what i
mean.
please post if you know what i mean and what you think about it!

like to upgrade to XP. well but my machine wouldnt do it

Due to reasons that arent worth being mentioned here i was dealing with P2P
filesharing recently and even though (at least here in Germany) the laws about
literary property etc have been tightened, i have seen lots and lots of MP3s
there, but also many images are round there.
Now a question came up with me: Would the artists who put their works here on MT
mind their pics being shared on those netowrks? I mean the thing with the
lterary property and so on... It's not like the sharers would claim the files as
their own works or something, no, they only want other users to see them as well
(at least the most of them do).
So, please, artists, tell your opinion ^^
NOTE: I would like the mods and admin not to post any official stuff about
copyright and stuff here. I am asking the artists what they think about it (of
course I dont mind the personal opinions, but please no official stuff
^^)

but i modified it not little! and my creative side was shown by selecting the
pic and bg (which were both taken from MT) and also the sentence is creative
from me.
so please give me a proper explanation why it was deleted or restore it!

but since that downtime last week (or this week?) it really is slow. i mean i
have firefox and the time that takes long is before transferring data, it is

well, i also am new to making wallpapers. i only done a bit of signatures for
some boards.
i didnt begin with drawing something myself and the processing it, i just took
two pictures and put them together in a way that seemed to fit ^^ (sorry but it
was deleted)
well whats probably elementary with doing wallps is that you are familiar with
your graphic software (i using Picture Publisher8 for example). practise a lot,
check out as many effects as possible, cuz it is easiest when you know how to
get to what you want ^^
for that wallpaper i only used the mask funtion to copy the girl, and then the
transparency function, which is probably one of the most used for wallpapers.
have a look at your fonts (usually in C:\windows\fonts\ ). u should collect some
fonts of every kind. where to get them? look at
[url=www.dafont.com/en/]dafont.com[/url] or search
[url=www.google.com/search?q=font+free+download]via Google[/url]
for the death part in my pic i just copied the textobject, so i actually got the
same piece of text three times, and just moved them a few pixels.
so, go and collect material. watch for pics that you can easily cut with masks,
i.e. figures that dont have paling effects from light or something on them. get
pics for backgrounds - i have most of them from MTs abstract section, but also
from some other sites ^^ just keep your eyes open.
and the most important thing: practise practise PRACTISE!
get used to the masks, above all the freehand mask (cuz which character is
squared or circled? ). watch
how to use the text objects. and practise with layer-editing and transparency
stuff.
keep this sentence in mind: If you wanna do Grapics, then dont be affraid of
your Software!
thats actually all i can say here. feel free to ask if anything isnt clear ^^
and one final tip for you: reember, that every software has an undo-funtion.
and the modern graphics-progs can undo almost everything u did sincs you opened
the pic!
so try! if youy dont like it click undo and try again or something else
